El nuevo proyecto fiscal de Donald Trump amenaza con eliminar los beneficios para autos eléctricos . Su propuesta busca revertir los créditos creados bajo la Ley de Reducción de la Inflación de la administración Biden, empezando por los 7.500 dólares de deducción para consumidores y empresas. Según borradores del Comité de Medios y Arbitrios, el crédito para consumidores desaparecería de inmediato, mientras que el de uso comercial seguiría vigente hasta finales de 2025. Solo contratos firmados antes del anuncio mantendrán el beneficio, aunque los vehículos se entreguen después. Actualmente, el incentivo puede aplicarse a cualquier auto eléctrico si es arrendado, sin importar el país de origen o el nivel de ingresos del comprador. Con la eliminación, ese esquema quedaría desactivado, y el impacto podría ser relevante para fabricantes como Tesla ( TSLA ) . Además de eliminar los créditos para eléctricos, el nuevo plan introduce una deducción de intereses sobre préstamos automotores, válida solo para autos ensamblados en territorio estadounidense. Aunque el beneficio sería más relevante para quienes detallan sus deducciones, representa un alivio frente al aumento de precios por aranceles. Trump ha impuesto tarifas que podrían encarecer los autos entre 2.000 y 5.000 dólares , según analistas. Esta nueva deducción podría compensar parcialmente ese impacto y favorecer a compañías con fabricación nacional como Rivian ( RIVN ) y Ford Motor ( F ) . General Motors ( GM ) también podría beneficiarse, aunque su producción local es menor: un 60%, frente al 100% de Tesla y Rivian. La mitad de los autos vendidos en EE. UU. son importados, por lo que la medida tiene un alcance limitado, pero significativo. La iniciativa forma parte del proyecto fiscal que Trump denomina su “Big Beautiful Bill” .
