Según el blog de Robinhood, la Autoridad Monetaria de Singapur (MAS) ha otorgado a Robinhood Singapore Pte. Ltd. una aprobación de principio (IPA) para proporcionar servicios de corretaje de valores, allanando el camino para su lanzamiento de servicios de corretaje integral en Singapur, incluidos valores, derivados negociados en bolsa, custodia, financiamiento y productos de inversión colectiva.
Singapur servirá como sede de Asia-Pacífico de Robinhood, complementando la licencia de Institución de Pago Mayor (MPI) de MAS que ya posee su subsidiaria Bitstamp Asia Pte. Ltd., fortaleciendo su presencia en la región de Asia-Pacífico. MAS enfatizó que la IPA no es equivalente a una licencia formal, y Robinhood aún debe cumplir con condiciones específicas, con la autoridad regulatoria conservando el poder de revocar la IPA.
