مدیرعامل هلیوس، مِرت، در پلتفرم X پستی منتشر کرد و اظهار داشت که تمرکززدایی اساساً «هماهنگی بدون مرجع مرکزی» است. اگر هزینه هماهنگی نزدیک به صفر باشد، آنگاه عملاً متمرکز است؛ اگر هزینه هماهنگی بینهایت بالا باشد، از نظر فنی نمیتوان آن را غیرمتمرکز نامید، زیرا سیستم به درستی کار نخواهد کرد.
مرت این نکته را از طریق یک آزمایش فکری توضیح داد: فرض کنید در حال حاضر یک بلاکچین بسیار غیرمتمرکز با صدها هزار گره که از خانه اداره میشوند، قدرت استخراج توزیعشده و عرضه توکن وجود دارد. او سپس فرضیه افراطی دیگری را مطرح کرد - اگر کره شمالی بتواند در مدت زمان T از کیف پول A به کیف پول B پول منتقل کند، این معادل آن است که آن زنجیره بتواند همزمان سلاحهای هستهای را در اکثر کشورهای جهان منفجر کند.
