Il co-fondatore di Solana, Anatoly Yakovenko, ha dichiarato alla conferenza Solana Breakpoint: "Una delle mie cose preferite è: la decentralizzazione non significa assenza di leader, ma piuttosto la ricca emersione di leader. Negli ultimi cinque anni, troppe persone si sono fatte avanti: persone provenienti da fondazioni, Labs, così come membri della comunità, sviluppatori di applicazioni e protocolli che non avevano nulla a che fare con queste organizzazioni iniziali; hanno davvero assunto il ruolo di leadership dell'intera rete".
"Ora, non ho nemmeno più l'accesso di commit a GitHub, e il mio tempo sul palco è stato di soli due minuti. Il mio obiettivo è sedermi tra il pubblico; penso che questo significhi vedere l'intera rete maturare davvero e avere una vita propria. Ne sono molto orgoglioso".
