日本円ステーブルコイン発行者 JPYC は、シリーズ B の第二回資金調達が間もなく完了することを発表し、累計資金調達額は約 50 億円に達する見込みです。本ラウンドの新たな投資者には、ライフデザインファンド、IHD ストラテジーファンド、阿波銀行傘下のファンド、明治安田未来共創ファンドなどの機関が含まれています。
JPYC は、新たな資金調達は主にシステムとアプリケーションの開発、ビジネス拡大のための人材採用、ステーブルコインの支払いと管理業務の推進、AI エージェントの M2M（機械対機械）支払いシーンの構築に使用されると述べています。JPYC は 2025 年に日本の資金移動業者ライセンスを取得し、同年に日本円 1:1 にペッグされたステーブルコイン JPYC の発行を開始しました。会社によれば、発行から約 7 ヶ月以内にアカウント数は 1.8 万件に達し、累計発行額は 25 億円を突破し、総取引額は 350 億円を超えています。現在、JPYC は Ethereum、Polygon、Avalanche、Kaia の 4 つのチェーンに展開されており、LINE エコシステムの Web3 ウォレット Unifi に接続されており、ステーブルコインの日本の一般ユーザーへの普及を目指しています。
