According to Cointelegraph, the Australian cryptocurrency exchange BTC Markets has informed the country's securities regulator of its intention to apply for a market license to offer regulated tokenized real-world assets (RWA).

BTC Markets CEO Lucas Dobbins stated on Monday, "Our plan is to obtain the licensed infrastructure that allows specific types of tokenized assets to be offered and used by the public." He added that his vision is for the market to operate continuously in a world where tokenized stocks, bonds, and real-world assets will be traded alongside cryptocurrencies, with settlements occurring instantly.
