Según la CNBC, James Comer, presidente del Comité de Supervisión y Reforma Gubernamental de la Cámara de Representantes, ha iniciado una investigación sobre las plataformas de mercados de predicción Kalshi y Polymarket, solicitando a ambas empresas que expliquen sus medidas para prevenir el uso de información privilegiada, incluyendo la verificación de identidad, la aplicación de restricciones geográficas y los mecanismos de monitoreo de operaciones inusuales. Comer declaró que los registros internos de las plataformas pertinentes son pruebas clave para identificar a los operadores indebidos y determinar si las plataformas están cumpliendo con sus obligaciones legales.
Anteriormente, se informó que Polymarket presentaba operaciones sospechosas relacionadas con eventos en EE. UU. sobre Irán y Venezuela; Kalshi también había suspendido las cuentas de tres candidatos al Congreso que apostaban por los resultados de sus propias elecciones en la plataforma. Comer ha solicitado a ambas empresas que presenten los documentos pertinentes antes del 5 de junio.
