BAE Systems Signs Agreement for L119 Gun Production in Ukraine

BAE Systems has signed a licensing agreement to support local production of Light Gun artillery systems in Ukraine. The agreement includes access to technical information and company support for creating an initial prototype of the L119 gun for testing. The document was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow with a strategic defense partner. The L119 is a 105mm light towed gun developed by BAE Systems, described as a mobile and reliable artillery system. The agreement is part of a long-term commitment to support Ukraine and collaborate with the Ukrainian industry to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. BAE Systems emphasizes that support for Ukraine includes not only the supply of equipment but also joint efforts to develop industrial resilience and skills. It is also noted that the agreement is linked to BAE Systems' investments in artillery capabilities in the UK, including the restoration of production capacity and support for the supply of 105mm and 155mm artillery barrels from Sheffield. Recently, the UK announced a new support package for Ukraine worth nearly £290 million.
