Chainalysis has released the "Crypto Tax Report: Country-Specific Data," estimating the global taxable activity related to crypto to be approximately $457 billion, covering three categories: trading profits, on-chain income, and digital payments. The report maps these activities by region and country using on-chain data, providing tax authorities with a geographical view of potential taxable activities. Stablecoin payment flows are the largest and most widely distributed category. The report also analyzes the impact of cross-border channels on direct and indirect tax obligations and demonstrates how on-chain intelligence can assist tax authorities in identifying high-value, high-risk wallets to determine enforcement priorities.
