IoTeX Mainnet Zanzibar Hard Fork Launched, Staking Rewards Distributed Directly On-Chain
The Zanzibar hard fork of IoTeX has been launched on the mainnet. According to the IIP-59 proposal, the staking rewards for voters will be calculated and distributed directly on-chain by the protocol during each reward cycle, eliminating the need for off-chain services or intermediaries, allowing anyone to verify each payment directly on-chain. The first on-chain distribution will take place tomorrow. Zanzibar has also strengthened the consensus mechanism by proving the ownership of delegated keys, preparing for subsequent BLS signature aggregation.
