Launch of KRWQ Gift Service Allows Sending Gifts to Korea from Anywhere in the World
IQ has launched the 'KRWQ Gift Service' based on the Korean won stablecoin KRWQ on the 20th. This service allows users to purchase gift cards and send gifts to people in Korea without needing a Korean bank account. It simplifies the existing overseas remittance and currency exchange processes, enabling gifts to be delivered with just a few clicks. After selecting a gift card and paying with KRWQ, it is delivered to the recipient within seconds, and the recipient can use it immediately at cafes, restaurants, department stores, and more. The service supports over 90 brands, and the Korean gift card market is expected to reach $80.3 billion by 2026. KRWQ is a multi-chain stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Korean won, unaffected by exchange rate fluctuations and currency exchange fees. The Chief Strategy Officer of IQ stated that this service allows overseas users to participate in Korea's gifting economy. Currently, the KRWQ Gift Service is available on the website.
