Troy Cross: Bitcoin Balances Unlimited Money Printing, Academia Will Ultimately Accept Bitcoin
Philosopher Troy Cross stated in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine that Bitcoin serves as a counterbalance to endless money printing, even though governments are unlikely to abandon printing money anytime soon. He believes that academia will be the last group to understand Bitcoin, following innovators, finance professionals, and journalists. Cross mentioned that the 'Getting Bitcoin' initiative has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, with related Bitcoin articles receiving 4 to 6 times the normal click-through rates. He cited a survey from the Nakamoto Project, indicating that Bitcoin is moving towards normalization and exhibiting partisanship and polarization. In the interview, Cross also discussed Bitcoin's branding issues, how it is often confused with other crypto assets, and why price trends, education, and 'Number Go Up' have become a universal language. He emphasized the need to reach the 82% of people who do not yet own Bitcoin and explained how Bitcoin encourages governments to remain honest. The video also touched on the setbacks of the Clarity Act and the ongoing development of Bitcoin.
