Selon un rapport de Yonhap TV, le Service des douanes coréen a lancé une opération spéciale pour lutter contre les flux financiers illégaux liés à la criminalité transnationale. Au cours des 5 dernières années, le volume des "transferts souterrains" a atteint 114 000 milliards de KRW, dont environ 83 % effectués via des cryptomonnaie. Récemment, un groupe impliqué dans des transferts illégaux utilisant des stablecoin (comme USDT) a été arrêté pour un montant total de 920 milliards de KRW.

De plus, la contrebande de devises est en hausse, atteignant environ 240 milliards de KRW sur 5 ans. Le Service des douanes a mis en place une équipe de 126 personnes pour renforcer les contrôles et lutter contre le blanchiment d'argent.
