The state of Arkansas and its Oil and Gas Commission are urging the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a lower court's injunction to restore state laws that restrict foreign investors from holding interests in cryptocurrency mining businesses. Arkansas passed relevant legislation in 2024, prohibiting citizens or companies from countries subject to U.S. Department of State weapon export controls from holding interests in digital asset mining equipment in the state.
