Bitkey Accelerates Development of Coin Control Feature

By: rootdata|2026/08/02 18:56:54

Bitkey is accelerating the development of its 'coin control' feature, which allows users to select individual coins within their wallets for transactions. This move comes in response to user demands from the Reddit community and App Store reviews. Coin control enables users to directly manage UTXOs (Unspent Transaction Outputs), allowing them to separate transaction histories and reduce fees. Bitkey operates on a 2-of-3 multisig structure and plans to publicly launch the feature in December 2023, with hardware shipments starting in March 2024. Currently, Bitkey offers a UTXO consolidation tool, but users are requesting labeling, manual coin selection, and specific coin freezing features. These functionalities are already standard in other power-user wallets. Recently, a verification flaw was discovered in Bitkey's mobile app; however, it did not lead to any loss of private keys or assets. The specific release date for the coin control feature has not yet been confirmed.
