Ctrl Wallet to cease full service on Aug. 3, users urged to export recovery phrases

Ctrl Wallet users face the last day of full service on Aug. 3, after which sending, receiving, swaps, and dApp connections will stop. Only recovery-phrase export will remain functional. The wallet supports over 2500 blockchains, but the deprecation notice lacks a specific cutoff time, risking missed transfers if users wait too long. Ownership remains on-chain, and the recovery phrase is crucial for accessing accounts in compatible wallets. Users can either export their 12- or 24-word recovery phrases to import into another wallet or transfer assets to their own addresses before the deadline. Phantom's support documentation warns that unsupported derivation paths may prevent expected accounts from appearing. Ctrl emphasizes that no official migration token, compensation airdrop, or refund exists, and any offers related to these are scams. Users should only enter their recovery phrases during the setup of the chosen compatible wallet. After Aug. 3, the app is expected to provide only phrase export, making it essential to complete migrations by Aug. 2.
