Deel Becomes the First Client to Use Tempo Zones Privacy System
Tempo announced on October 14 that the payroll payment platform Deel has become the first client to use its Zones privacy system in a production environment. This system ensures that the balances and payment histories of contractors are no longer publicly accessible. Funds deposited by Deel's treasury department into Zones can still be viewed on the public network, but the recipients of contractor payments, payment amounts, and asset holdings remain private; contractors can view their own balances, while Deel retains access for reconciliation and auditing purposes. Each Zone maintains a private ledger and connects to the Tempo public network through a portal that holds endorsed assets. Deposits and withdrawals will still leave records on the public network, such as token amounts and public network addresses, allowing operators to read the private ledger, restrict participants and supported assets, and execute the transfer strategies of token issuers. This integration adds privacy features to Deel's existing wallet, which was opened to qualified contractors in over 80 countries in August; the embedded wallet service provider Privy supports Zones through an API.
