Ethereum Approves EIP-8141 for New Transactions in Wallets
The EIP-8141 proposal, known as 'Frame Transaction', has been scheduled for inclusion in the upcoming Hegotá update of Ethereum. This improvement introduces a new type of transaction whose validation and gas payment can be defined programmatically, breaking down each operation into a sequence of 'frames' that validate the transaction, approve the payment of fees, and execute the user's operations. EIP-8141 aims to increase the flexibility of Ethereum wallets, allowing the separation of authorization for an operation from a single private key, grouping multiple actions into one transaction, and enabling another party to pay gas fees on behalf of the user. Additionally, it incorporates atomic batch processing, ensuring that all operations are executed correctly or rolled back in case of failure. Although there is consensus among developers on the importance of this functionality, the concrete implementation is still subject to discussion. Currently, EIP-8141 is in 'draft' status, meaning its inclusion in Hegotá does not guarantee that the final specification will not undergo changes. The Hegotá update is expected to be implemented in Ethereum in 2027.
