Ethereum Foundation Appoints Security Expert 'pcaversaccio' to Board

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is accelerating its governance reform by appointing security expert 'pcaversaccio' to its board. Pc is a security researcher and co-founder of the emergency response organization 'SEAL 911', and will serve a one-year term without compensation. He has also been active in the foundation's unofficial advisory body, the 'SilviCulture Society', providing advice on censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and maintaining security principles. With this appointment, the Ethereum Foundation's board has expanded to a total of four members, including Aya Miyaguchi, Vitalik Buterin, and Patrick Stornetta. The board sets the strategic direction of the foundation, oversees that the executive decisions align with the organization's values, and also plays the role of a 'security committee' to ensure compliance with Swiss laws and protect the foundation's mission. Pc's joining is interpreted as an intention to strengthen security and risk response capabilities. Recently, there has been a trend of high-level researchers and executives leaving the foundation, with some launching new Ethereum-related startups and research organizations. Consequently, the Ethereum Foundation is restructuring to focus on a 'stewardship' role that preserves the long-term direction and principles of the network, rather than being solely a development-focused organization. The foundation expressed its happiness about pc's recruitment and stated that it will manage Ethereum's long-term future together.
