FDJ United's effective tax rate has risen from 25.7% to 42.5% in one year, due to an exceptional contribution on the profits of large companies, introduced for 2025 and extended into 2026. This surcharge raises the corporate tax from 25% to 41.2% for companies with revenues exceeding 3 billion euros, affecting around 300 French companies with an expected yield of 7.3 billion euros for the year. In the first half of 2026, FDJ United reported a net loss of 16 million euros, compared to a profit of 136 million euros the previous year, with an adjusted net result down by 19%, impacted by an exceptional tax contribution of 20 million euros. Bercy is considering a third extension of this surcharge for the 2027 budget, raising concerns among investors. The president of Medef, Patrick Martin, expressed doubts about the government's promise of tax stability. FDJ United has also revised its revenue forecasts downward, anticipating a decline of 1 to 3%. This tax instability could affect the attractiveness of the Paris market.
