In the Seine-et-Marne department of France, a burglary occurred where the criminals mistakenly believed the homeowner possessed 660 BTC, when in fact it was only 0.066 BTC. According to reports forwarded by Googly, the homeowner made a typographical error while filing taxes, leading to the leak of information that resulted in the attackers breaking into the residence and violently assaulting the entire family. The incident took place on February 6, 2026, when several masked men entered the home of a couple and their 20-year-old daughter, believing the father held approximately 40 million euros worth of Bitcoin, and demanded he open his crypto wallet. Upon checking the accounts, they found that the first wallet contained only 3,000 USD, and the other two accounts totaled nearly 7,000 euros. Two suspects involved in the attack were sentenced to 3 years and 18 months in prison on October 16.
