Insurance Companies Paid €26.5 Million to Accident Victims Abroad in the First Half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, 660,700 international insurance contracts came into effect, which is a 1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Ukrainian insurance companies received 7,399 claims for compensation related to accidents abroad and paid out €26.5 million to the victims. The total volume of insurance premiums decreased by 1.52%, amounting to 2.58 billion UAH. The leaders in the number of contracts were: "PZU Ukraine" - 165,474, "TAS" - 115,374, "Ukrainian Insurance Group" - 89,847, "Knyazheska Vienna Insurance Group" - 73,178, "USO" - 53,739. The highest number of claims were satisfied by insurers: "TAS" - 1,945 claims totaling €6.9 million, "PZU Ukraine" - 1,328 claims totaling €3.6 million, "Ukrainian Insurance Group" - 1,270 claims totaling €5.6 million, "Knyazheska Vienna Insurance Group" - 520 claims totaling €1.8 million. The "Green Card" certificate is mandatory for traveling abroad by car with Ukrainian registration.
