Iranian Military Leadership Reshuffled, Transitioning to Offensive Doctrine
Six members of Iran's military leadership have decided to shift from a defensive military doctrine to an 'offensive doctrine.' Mohammad Reza Naqdi, senior advisor to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated in an interview with Iran's state IRIB television on the 11th that 'a new element has been introduced, and that is the offensive doctrine,' regarding the recent military leadership appointments. Naqdi confirmed that Iran's defense, security, and military doctrine is moving from defense to offense, saying, 'Yes, this decision has been made.' On the 10th, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei carried out appointments for six military leaders, including the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. Naqdi explained that the previous doctrine was based on 'defense against threats and national preservation,' emphasizing that 'when necessary, we must be able to carry out operations in enemy territory.' He added that operations should be able to be conducted far from Iranian territory. Naqdi also mentioned that there is 'no end' to missile and drone production, claiming that they are producing ballistic missiles faster than they can be launched. He stated, 'Even if the war continues for years, our ballistic missiles will continue to fall on the enemy's heads.'
