Kalshi: The Most Requested Market by Users is 'My Divorce'
The most requested market by users on the U.S. prediction market platform Kalshi is not politics or sports, but rather the likelihood of their own divorce. Andy Ross, head of institutional business at Kalshi, stated on the 1st (local time) that the question "Will my partner divorce me?" received the highest number of requests. Kalshi provides a feature that allows users to propose events they want to trade on, and divorce-related requests have been particularly prominent. Bitcoin.com reported that this demand illustrates the direction of expansion for prediction markets. Institutional trading volume is also on the rise, having increased by approximately 800% over the past six months, with an annualized trading volume reaching $178 billion. Ross mentioned that prediction markets could also serve as a tool for assessing the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, suggesting that Kalshi's data would be useful for investors who need to make their own judgments about policy direction. There is a simultaneous emergence of diverse trading demands, ranging from individual divorce probabilities to Federal Reserve interest rate decisions.
