Kraken plans to become a fully-fledged bank in certain geographical areas, according to Dave Ripley, co-CEO of Kraken, during the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026. He specified that the banking sector includes payments, loans, yields, and asset custody, services that Kraken already offers. Last year, Kraken considered an initial public offering, but this project was put on hold due to market conditions. For the second quarter, the company announced a revenue increase of 17% year-on-year, reaching $508 million, while its EBITDA decreased to $23 million from $80 million the previous year.
