The Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs is investigating a digital nomad community founded by former Coinbase Chief Technology Officer Balaji Srinivasan, following allegations that the community includes Israelis violating immigration laws. The Malaysian Immigration Department stated that holders of Israeli passports are prohibited from entering Malaysia, but there is no law preventing individuals with dual nationality from traveling on non-Israeli passports. Established in 2024, the community is described on its website as "a frontier community for tech optimists," aiming to "transform the internet community into a physical entrepreneurial society." The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the investigation will determine the identities and nationalities of those involved, the validity of their travel documents, and their purpose for entering Malaysia. Strict measures will be taken if any violations are found.
