Meta Acquires Swedish AI Startup Stilla.ai
Meta has acquired Swedish AI startup Stilla.ai to accelerate the development of the Meta Business Agent. This AI agent is designed to help businesses interact with customers on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, facilitating transaction completion. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Stockholm, Stilla completed a $5 million seed funding round earlier this year. Following the acquisition, the Stilla team and its technology will be integrated into Meta, further embedding AI technology into its messaging ecosystem for business. Meta aims to enhance the capabilities of AI chatbots to help businesses more effectively convert customer inquiries into actual purchases and plans to expand its operations in Sweden.
