Microsoft CEO Emphasizes Companies Should View AI as a Security Risk
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that companies should incorporate AI models into their internal security risk management systems. Although the models themselves are not malicious, they can pose security risks due to errors or exploitation by attackers, especially when sensitive data and critical operations are involved. Companies should not solely rely on the security assurances of model vendors. Nadella emphasized the need to separate AI models from the Agent execution framework, control data access and tool invocation permissions through external systems, and maintain tamper-proof, auditable records for critical operations. During the deployment phase, companies must consider the possibility of model breaches, ensure authorized personnel can pause or shut down the Agent at any time, and continuously conduct security testing and incident disclosures. Additionally, Microsoft has announced that the Windows platform will support MXC isolation tools to restrict Agent access to files and networks through external policies.
