MoneyGram Launches First Stablecoin Visa Card in Colombia, Supporting USDC

MoneyGram has launched its first stablecoin Visa card in Colombia, developed with the assistance of stablecoin payment infrastructure company Rain. The card is offered in digital form, allowing users to hold a balance of US dollar stablecoins within the MoneyGram app, make online and offline payments through the Visa network, and convert their balance into local cash for withdrawal at MoneyGram locations. Initially supporting USDC, MoneyGram plans to soon introduce its own stablecoin, MGUSD, and aims to launch a physical card by the end of 2026, expanding to other markets in Latin America.
