Novak Couple Murder Case Under Trial in Russia

Roman Novak and his wife Anna Novak are the main suspects in the murder case that occurred after they went missing in Hatta, United Arab Emirates. The Novaks traveled to Hatta on October 2, 2025, for a meeting with investors, after which they lost contact. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has classified the case as a murder investigation, reporting that the suspects allegedly kidnapped the couple, demanded access information for cryptocurrency, and then killed them. The Saint Petersburg District Court detained Konstantin Shakht, Yuri Sharipov, and Vladimir Dalekin on November 7, 2025. They are accused of murdering more than two individuals, and accomplices are also suspected of being involved in the preparation of the crime. During the investigation, the possibility of a mastermind behind the scenes was raised, revealing that the main suspects were paid $10,000. The case resembles what is referred to as a "ransom attack" in the digital asset industry, where the target was a person rather than a server. Novak is associated with Pintopio and has a history of being sentenced to prison for fraud. The current focus of the trial is on who planned the kidnapping and whether there was a mastermind behind it.
