Peruvian officials will participate in a seminar in Guatemala from September 29 to October 2, 2026, focused on cryptocurrency regulation and cybersecurity. 90% of cryptocurrency transactions in Peru are conducted using stablecoins. The event, organized by the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Markets, will address topics such as digital assets, crypto asset regulation, resilience, and open finance. The Superintendency of Securities Market (SMV) emphasizes that this training aims to strengthen the integrity of the securities market and the collective funds system. This initiative comes in a context where Bill No. 1042, which sought to regulate exchanges, has been shelved in parliament. Despite this, the cryptocurrency market in Peru continues to grow, reaching an annual volume of 28 billion dollars.
