Phishing emails impersonating employees of the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) have been circulated. These emails may contain malicious links or attachments. BPI has warned through official channels that emails impersonating employees are being sent out. The problematic emails were sent from the domain 'btcpolicyinstitute.org', which is unrelated to BPI. BPI's official email domain is 'btcpolicy.org', and recipients should verify that the sender's address matches this domain. BPI urged recipients not to reply to emails sent from other domains and not to click on links or open attachments. It advised that suspicious emails should be reported as phishing. No evidence was presented in this warning that BPI's systems or employee email accounts have been compromised. Phishing emails use domains similar to the institution's name to mislead recipients into thinking they are official communications. BPI is a research institution that deals with Bitcoin (BTC) and issues related to digital asset policy and security. Recipients should check the sender's address and report suspicious emails without opening them.
