Pump.fun graduation rate rises to 6.7% after BOOST launch

Pump.fun's graduation rate reached 6.7% last Friday, approximately 8 times higher than the average throughout June. The rate averaged 4.7% over the previous four days, compared to 2.5% the week before. This increase coincided with the launch of BOOST, a new mechanism that incentivizes higher graduation rates. BOOST targets 'dead liquidity,' which is about 20% of migration liquidity previously locked in the PumpSwap pool. With the BOOST update, this capital is now used for automatic market buys in the first five minutes post-migration, with tokens acquired being burned afterwards. BOOST operates after a token has bonded, incentivizing traders to bid more aggressively due to guaranteed liquidity injection and supply burn upon migration. The sustainability of the increased graduation rates remains to be seen, but changes in participant behavior suggest a lasting impact. Additionally, Pump.fun's native token (PUMP) is up over 10% year-to-date, outperforming BTC's -25% YTD performance. PUMP has risen nearly 60% in the last month, currently trading at around 850 million dollars market cap and a fully diluted valuation exceeding 1.8 billion dollars.
