Purchase Prices for Pigs from August 31 to September 6, 2026
The forecast for purchase prices of live pigs for the period from August 31 to September 6, 2026, is 74-75 UAH/kg. The forecast is based on an analysis of pork consumption, demand and supply, as well as seasonal changes and fluctuations in exchange rates. In spring, prices fluctuated between 80-82 UAH/kg, with the weighted average price on April 1 being 80.6 UAH/kg. At the German VEZG exchange, prices for half-carcasses of pigs are 1.60 euros/kg (82.97 UAH/kg), and for half-carcasses of sows - 0.73 euros/kg (37.86 UAH/kg). At the Polish CennikRolnicze exchange, the average price for live pigs is 5.25 zlotys/kg (62.91 UAH/kg), with a price range of 4.50-6.00 zlotys/kg (53.92-71.89 UAH/kg). Globally, the price dynamics are as follows: 1.66 (+5%) €/kg in the EU, 1.03 (-4%) €/kg in Brazil, 1.78 (-6%) €/kg in the USA, and 1.31 (-6%) €/kg in Canada. Prices in the EU are rising, while in Canada, the USA, and Latin America, they continue to decline.
