Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, holds only 1% of his portfolio in Bitcoin, favoring gold as a better investment. In a recent episode of the Diary of a CEO podcast, Dalio acknowledged Bitcoin as a type of money but expressed concerns about its vulnerability to technologies like quantum computing and government monitoring. He reiterated his preference for gold, stating, "I prefer that --- I'm pointing to the gold bars here --- rather than the Bitcoin." Dalio has consistently maintained that Bitcoin's volatility makes it less suitable as money, advocating for gold in investment portfolios. He also warned that governments have the power to regulate or restrict Bitcoin, which could affect its adoption by central banks. Despite his cautious stance, Bitcoin's acceptance among traditional investors has grown, with figures like BlackRock CEO Larry Fink referring to it as an "international asset" and a means of "digitizing gold."
