Router Protocol to Cease Operations on September 30, 2026

The cross-chain interoperability protocol Router Protocol will cease operations on September 30, 2026. The project team stated that funding has largely shifted towards areas such as AI, and Web3 is experiencing a liquidity shortage. The competition in the cross-chain sector has intensified, costs have been compressed, and revenues are insufficient to support infrastructure operating costs. Despite the team's active exploration of commercialization, licensing, and acquisition paths over the past year, none have been successful. Router Protocol will destroy 303,333,198 ROUTE tokens pending in its treasury and coordinate with centralized exchanges to delist ROUTE. Holders must withdraw their tokens within the deadlines set by each exchange. After this, Router will not launch any new plans related to ROUTE, but will open-source some core technical components for the community to continue using.
