Sberbank: Retail Investors' Crypto Investments Will Not Catch Up with Traditional Instruments
Investments by retail investors in cryptocurrency remain relatively small and will not approach investments in traditional market instruments, said Kirill Tsarev, the first deputy chairman of Sberbank. He noted that interest in cryptocurrencies from clients is understandable, as they have become part of the global financial market. Tsarev emphasized that interest will be high at the initial stage, but volumes will remain relatively small, as many clients will be testing the new format and figuring out how it works in practice. Sberbank is also focusing on the technical implementation of crypto services and ensuring connectivity with the global market under sanctions. The bank is preparing a service for retail clients that will allow transactions with BTC, ETH, USDT, and other crypto assets. Starting December 1, Sberbank plans to open the possibility of cryptocurrency transactions for all clients in accordance with Russian legislation. The Bank of Russia has already included Sber in the register of digital depositories.
