SK Telecom to Build AI Factory Based on NVIDIA's Vera Rubin Architecture, Launching in 2027

SK Group and NVIDIA have announced a collaboration project worth over $500 billion to develop AI infrastructure, including the construction of AI factories and the supply of next-generation AI storage chips. SK Telecom will build a 2 GW-level AI cloud infrastructure based on NVIDIA's Vera Rubin architecture and DSX platform, with the first AI factory expected to launch in 2027. The project will integrate NVIDIA's accelerated computing, software, and partner technologies to provide computing power support for enterprise AI, agent AI, and physical AI applications. Meanwhile, SK Hynix has reached a long-term AI storage cooperation agreement with NVIDIA to jointly develop and optimize next-generation AI memory solutions, including high-bandwidth memory, to meet the computing power demands of large model training and AI agents. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won stated that competition in the AI era depends not only on AI application capabilities but also on the ability to produce intelligence. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang pointed out that South Korea has the key conditions to become a global AI powerhouse, and NVIDIA will work with SK Group to promote the next phase of AI industry development in Korea.
