SlowMist links OFAC-sanctioned North Korean IT workers' wallets
Blockchain security firm SlowMist analyzed addresses linked to North Korean IT workers sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and found that the wallets were closely interconnected. Boykov and Obertas each sent approximately 9.88 million to the same linked Ethereum address, while addresses associated with Obertas transferred a total of 1.66 million USDT on the Tron network. Additionally, Boykov and Kim Gi-hyeok sent about 4 million and 50000 DAI, respectively, to the same Bybit deposit address. OFAC had previously sanctioned 10 individuals and one entity related to a North Korean IT worker network. SlowMist urged companies to enhance identity verification and access control management, warning that North Korean IT workers could exploit false identities to access internal systems or sensitive information.
