SpaceX Plans to Build $100 Billion Starship Launch Facility in Louisiana
SpaceX plans to construct a $100 billion Starship launch facility on the southern coast of Louisiana, adding a third launch site for the Starship program. The facility, located on Pelican Island, will cover approximately 125,000 acres and is set to include five launch complexes, ten launch pads, as well as facilities for propellant production, power generation, vehicle processing, and employee housing. This base will help SpaceX increase the launch frequency of Starship and support future plans to build up to one million data center satellites. The Starship will also be used to launch upgraded Starlink satellites, with the first orbital data center missions expected as early as 2027, and plans to carry NASA astronauts to the Moon as soon as 2028.
