Strategy's Bitcoin Jordans sell out in four days as Saylor leverages 4% of BTC supply
Strategy's Bitcoin-themed Air Jordans, priced at 250 dollars, sold out within four days of their launch on September 4, with all advertised sizes unavailable by September 8. The company did not disclose the number of pairs offered or the exact time inventory ran out. This release marks a shift for Strategy, extending its Bitcoin identity from financial assets into consumer merchandise. The company holds 845050 BTC, approximately 4.02% of Bitcoin's total supply, which is central to its corporate identity. Since rebranding from MicroStrategy in February 2025, Strategy has focused on building its public image around Bitcoin. The Air Jordans, inspired by the original Air Jordan 1, feature custom branding, leather overlays, Nike Air cushioning, and the Air Jordan Wings logo. Sizes ranged from 6.5 to 14. The sold-out status indicates strong demand for premium products associated with Bitcoin, although the undisclosed inventory limits understanding of the scale. Notably, the payment options listed on Strategy's storefront do not include Bitcoin, featuring traditional methods like American Express and Visa instead. This conventional retail experience contrasts with the company's substantial Bitcoin holdings. There is no announced restock date, leaving uncertainty about whether the Jordans were a limited release or part of a broader strategy to establish a recurring consumer brand.
