The Kobeissi Letter: Institutional Investors Are Actively Selling U.S. Stocks at the Fastest Pace Since October Last Year
BlockBeats News, February 6th. According to The Kobeissi Letter, institutional investors are actively selling off US stocks. On Wednesday, hedge funds sold US equities at the fastest pace since last October, marking the second consecutive day of selling. This was primarily driven by short-selling, followed by unwinding long positions. This also marks the fifth net outflow in the past 6 days.
As a result, 5 out of the 11 industries in the US stock market have experienced liquidation, with the information technology, industrial, and materials sectors being the most affected. The semiconductor and semiconductor equipment, communication equipment, and technology hardware sectors faced the most pressure. The report suggests that this represents a shift in hedge fund sentiment.
