THORChain Co-founder Responds to FBI Request, Node Operators Not Required to Comply with Subpoenas

THORChain co-founder Chad Barraford stated that the information held by THORNode operators is publicly available and can be accessed in real-time, meaning law enforcement does not need to issue subpoenas to obtain relevant information. He believes this is the ideal situation for investigations. Previously, the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, and the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS called on THORNode operators, RPC node operators, instant exchange platforms, and DeFi service providers to intercept transactions and fund flows related to addresses associated with the North Korean TraderTraitor attackers, a request linked to the theft of over $6 billion in assets from Binance.
