Tom Lee: Crypto Purchases by Listed Firms Could Boost Prices

Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine, stated that ongoing cryptocurrency purchases by publicly listed companies could drive prices higher. In an interview during Korea Blockchain Week, he explained that companies trading above net asset value (NAV) can raise additional funds for cryptocurrency acquisitions, potentially reducing market supply and increasing asset values. Lee used Hyperliquid’s HYPE as an example, noting that digital asset treasury companies currently hold about 14% of the total HYPE supply and are continuing to accumulate. He suggested that if these firms' HYPE holdings reach 50% of the total supply, the token's price could experience a significant surge. However, U.Today highlighted that Lee's optimistic market outlook may not materialize as actual market conditions could differ.
