Losses from the compromise of crypto payments firm Triple-A's hot wallets have escalated to approximately 11.8 million dollars, according to onchain investigator Specter. This figure increased from an initial estimate of 9.3 million dollars reported on Friday. Specter first reported the drain at 5:18 p.m. ET on Friday, noting that the attacker had swapped the assets and bridged them to Ethereum. The loss estimate was later raised to over 9.7 million dollars by PeckShield. On Sunday, Specter indicated that an additional 1.8 million dollars had been taken across the Bitcoin and TRON networks, with new deposits still being drained from the affected wallets 31 hours after the initial outflows. Bitcoin had not been previously identified among the affected networks. The stolen assets were consolidated at a single Ethereum address, which held 5,226.67 ETH valued at about 9.73 million dollars. Triple-A confirmed it is investigating the situation and stated that customer funds are not impacted, though it has not disclosed how the wallets were accessed. The incident follows other significant crypto exploits this week, including a 24.15 million dollar loss by AFX Trade and a 7.54 million dollar loss by the Verus-Ethereum bridge.
