On September 19, the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) weekly survey revealed that investor sentiment has dropped to its lowest level since 2025, influenced by high oil prices and the Federal Reserve's first interest rate hike since 2023. The survey showed that 53.3% of respondents are bearish, while 28.8% are bullish, marking the lowest level in a year. The difference between bullish and bearish investors has fallen to -24.5%, remaining below the historical average of 6.5% for the ninth consecutive week. This is the lowest level for this indicator since May 2025. The survey also indicated that more than half of the respondents have cash allocations above normal levels, with 19.1% stating their cash allocation is "far above normal levels."
