Vitalik Buterin Claims Mozi Approaches Original Effective Altruism

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin pointed out in a post that as more people learn about effective altruism, the ancient Chinese philosopher Mozi deserves attention. He believes that Mozi is surprisingly close to being an original effective altruist, particularly in his focus on global health rather than AI risks. Vitalik emphasized that Mozi valued two goals: universal love, which means loving everyone and not just oneself or those similar or close to oneself; and the efficient use of limited resources to help people in the most effective way.
