World Liberty Launches USD1 Payment Perpetual Contract Market

World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has opened a USD1 payment-based traditional finance perpetual contract market at Aster. Initial liquidity is set at 250 million WLFI and USD12.5 million. This launch introduces a dollar-linked stablecoin as the payment asset within the cryptocurrency derivatives structure. Perpetual contracts are derivatives that track the price of an underlying asset without an expiration date. Aster's traditional finance perpetual contracts are presented as handling the prices of physical assets such as gold, silver, and crude oil in an on-chain trading environment. Binance has also expanded its traditional finance perpetual contracts linked to gold, silver, and crude oil, with those products introduced as tether (USDT) payment-based derivatives. The difference in this case lies in the payment asset, where USD1 is the dollar-linked stablecoin promoted by World Liberty Financial. This project has garnered market interest due to the recent establishment procedures for a U.S. trust bank and the potential for advancing USD1-related operations. The choice of which stablecoin is adopted as a payment asset in the derivatives market can impact trading liquidity and platform dependency.
