XRP Ledger Surpasses 5 Billion Transactions: Rapid Influx of RWA Surpasses Ethereum and Accelerates Growth
XRP Ledger Surpasses 5 Billion Transactions
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has reached a significant milestone, surpassing a total of 5 billion transactions after more than 14 years of operation.
According to on-chain data analysis, the network's design, which enables fast payments of approximately 3 to 5 seconds per transaction with extremely low fees, has been recognized and has accumulated usage over the years in payment and DeFi (decentralized finance) sectors.
The background of this achievement includes efforts by Ripple, the company supporting the infrastructure, in the Web3 space, as well as advancements in the legal and regulatory environment. Recently, integration of platforms for institutional investors has also been progressing, leading to a gradual deepening of adoption as a financial infrastructure.
Tracking and Leading in the RWA (Real World Assets) Market
Particularly noteworthy at this milestone is the rapid expansion in the tokenization of RWA (Real World Assets).
Recent trends estimate that the influx of RWA into XRPL (excluding stablecoins over the past 90 days) has reached approximately $1.9 billion (about ¥302.79 billion), showing momentum that surpasses the inflow rates of major blockchains such as Ethereum and Stellar.
While competition among chains is intensifying, there is a growing trend to choose XRPL as a tokenization platform for diverse assets such as bonds, funds, and commodities, extending beyond traditional payment areas.
Increased Use of Stablecoins and Expansion of User Base
Data on actual demand within the network is also showing signs of activity. The market capitalization of stablecoins on XRPL has exceeded $1 billion (about ¥159.36 billion), and the number of holders and transaction volumes continue to expand. The total number of accounts has also reached record levels, supporting the establishment of the user base through on-chain activities.
Collaboration with Global Companies and Diversification of Ecosystem
The expansion of the ecosystem is progressing in multiple dimensions. There are ongoing collaborations with external networks, such as improved access to XRPL-based assets through cryptocurrency exchanges in the Asian market and support for hackathons by global payment companies. This is broadening the scope for advanced use case development, including not only payment and institutional investor functions but also financial applications utilizing AI.
The surpassing of 5 billion transactions is not just an indicator of past accumulation but also proves the evolution of XRPL as an effective Web3 infrastructure that captures RWA demand.
