Zcash Co-founder Confirms ZEC Supply Can Be Verified Locally

Prefer us on GoogleZcash co-founder Zooko stated that concerns about the potential secret inflation of ZEC supply are unfounded. Anyone can verify the current total supply of ZEC, which stands at 16,848,458 coins, on their local computer without having to wait for months. Zcash is currently undergoing a protocol migration from Orchard to Ironwood, and some users mistakenly believe they must wait for the migration to complete before confirming any inflation issues. Boston Zcash pointed out that Zcash's "turntable" mechanism is designed so that 100% of the Orchard funds will never fully migrate to Ironwood, thus "completion of migration" is not the correct standard for determining inflation.
